Brabham wins e-government iAward

Brabham wins again with our Electronic Cabinet Online (ECO) solution.  After winning a global Business Process Management award for ECO in 2010, Brabham now continues its success with winning the South Australian iAward for eGovernment.

"This win confirms for Brabham the sophisticaion and robustness of ECO and provides us with both local and global recognition of the solution. The success of the ECO solution is a direct result of the partnership between Brabham and the Cabinet Office (within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet). Brabham now looks forward to continuing the success of ECO with our commercialisation program and moving the solution interstate and overseas...a great win for South Australian created technology" says Jane Brabham

The ECO solution was developed when the Department of the Premier Cabinet (DPC) sought to improve the efficiency and security of electronically distributing confidential papers to/from various stakeholders (Cabinet documents). The solution required design and implementation of a fully automated system including business process management together with workflow and secure electronic document management. The ECO solution also had to be provide for ad-hoc access to Cabinet documents for over 45,000 South Australian Government staff (based on Cabinet submissions). At the same time the system needed to maintaining the strict weekly Cabinet processes whilst significantly improving security of handling sensitive Government documents.

ECO has moved what was over 7 reams of A4 paper being used every 10 day cycle to print and distribute Cabinet documents to a fully online, secure solution.

Australian Information Industry Assocation state manager Byron Riessen said the results reflected the state's ability to produce world-class ideas.

"What South Australia is able to demonstrate is that the companies that will drive productivity growth and prosperity as we develop a national digital economy are not only home-grown, they are ready today."

"Business and government should take note."
